Scott Giraldin

August 5, 1953 — May 10, 2025

With great sadness we share the passing of our precious brother Scott Giraldin (71) at home with family, in Renton on May 10. He was born in 1953 in Renton and grew up in San Jose, California.

Scott was a music lover. He and his boyhood friends made cardboard guitars, put on wigs and lip-synced songs of his favorite band, The Beatles. In 1966, he saw them perform at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. He gave CDs to friends, neighbors and family, with their favorite music. His friend Lolly said she has fifty! He enjoyed playing songs from his enormous digital collection for family, especially Big Band era music for his Dad.

He liked to read the Bible. He was a gifted writer who wrote for two community college newspapers. He could express himself thru beautiful and clever poetry. His quick wit was a hit with everyone.

He worked at the Post Office and attended his favorite church in South San Francisco. In 1999, after becoming disabled, he returned to Washington to be near family. Throughout his life, he kept in touch with childhood friends, cousins, church friends and Postal co-workers. He enjoyed exchanging letters and cards with his NY cousin Karen. She speaks for all of us when she said, “I am a better person for having known Scott”. He was kind. He was resilient. He was exceptionally brave. He will always be our hero.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Marjorie. He is greatly missed by his siblings Kristin, Renee and Dane.
