Phyllis was a loving mother. She was also called “mother” because of her loving heart for the People. When times were tough, she was the one you could go to for help and talk it out. Nature and PowWows were her favorite pastimes on her journey of this walk of life to include being with the People at Native Park & Chief Seattle Club.
A celebration of life was held in her honor at the Kenny Moses Building, Tulalip, Washington, on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Elder Jake Price lead the service with drumming and songs in the Salish and Lakota ways.
She was drummed into cremation at the Co-op Funeral Home with full Ogala-Sioux honors on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Reverend Calleé Gray drummed her in with cedar ceremony and honor songs from the Lakota and Salish ways of life.
It is the wish of the entire family that the wishes of their dearly departed be fulfilled with her ashes coming home to the Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota.
May you Rest In Peace our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
