Patsy Lee Ethridge-Neal

February 27, 1941 — March 23, 2026

Life-long Seattle resident, Patsy Ethridge-Neal peacefully passed away surrounded by her three children on the morning of March 23rd, 2026. Patsy spent her life caring for others as the eldest daughter of three sisters, the mother of three and grand- and great grandmother of many grandchildren.

Patsy spent more than 20 years as a classroom teacher, 17 of those years as a marketing teacher at Cleveland High School, which were followed by more than ten more years supporting vocational education at the Seattle Schools district office. Patsy’s outstanding work as a teacher was recognized in the 1990's by receiving the Washington State Teacher of the Year award and also by receiving the ACTU’s Lifetime Achievement award.

After retiring from teaching, Patsy continued to serve others through her participation in leadership roles for the Edmonds Waterfront Center, her local Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, First District Democrat Party, and the Bothell United Methodist Church. Outside of teaching, Patsy loved traveling, square dancing, and spending time with her family.

To have met and known Patsy is to have been instantly touched by her kindness, energy and belief in service and helping others. To celebrate Patsy, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Edmonds Waterfront Center on July 26th in the early afternoon. Patsy is preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Neal.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Edmonds Waterfront Center.
