Nancy Ann Robbins Ewell

February 27, 1935 — November 18, 2025

Nancy Ewell passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, at Skyline at First Hill.

Born in Tacoma, Washington, to Ray and Josie Robbins, Nancy spent her early years active in ballet, tap dancing, Girl Scouts, and playing the accordion. She attended Annie Wright Seminary Schools before moving to Seattle in the 7th grade. There, she attended John Marshall Junior High and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Nancy went on to the University of Washington where she joined the Alpha Phi Sorority and studied nursing.

Nancy married Jeff Ewell, who was then attending Stanford University. The couple relocated to Palo Alto, California, where she worked as an Executive Contract Secretary at the Stanford Research Institute.

Nancy dedicated herself to raising her four children—Terry, Scott, Cris, and Deborah. A woman of many talents and a generous spirit, she excelled at spinning, weaving, and quilting. She gave her time as a volunteer secretary for Seattle Youth Symphonies and their summer camps. She also volunteered for many years at Swedish Hospital and donated her handmade hats and quilts to the neonatal unit.

Nancy leaves behind a large and loving family, including her husband, Jeff Ewell; her four children; 9 grandchildren (John, Jeff, Erica, and Emily Ewell; Theresa Nelson; Dana McAdams; Kelly and Jake Bois; and Amy Wulf); and 11 great-grandchildren (Silas, Arlo, and Saoirse Nelson; Allise and Ashley Ewell; Adelynn and Keeley McAdams; Titan and Ember Wulf; and Savanna and Luca Bois).

A Memorial Service will be held at Skyline in June 2026.
