Larry Getzlaff

September 15, 1942 — February 11, 2026

Kent

Larry Getzlaff, 83, of Kent, Washington, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, at Valley Medical Center.

Larry was born on September 15, 1942, in North Dakota to Otto Getzlaff and Gertrude (Brandt) Getzlaff. He was one of twelve children and remained close to many of his siblings throughout his life.

He proudly served in the United States Army, spending much of his time stationed in France and Germany. Larry carried the values of service and dedication with him long after his military years.

Larry made his living as an auto mechanic and owned his own shop in Grants Pass, where he was known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit. He enjoyed fixing things and often gave away what he repaired, simply to bless others.

A lifelong lover of baseball, Larry played often in his younger years and continued to enjoy the game throughout his life. He was a huge Mariners fan.

In recent years, he had several beloved dachshunds who brought him great joy and companionship. You would often have seen him holding his four-legged fur babies and spoiling them!

He was married to his loving wife, Charlotte Getzlaff, for 19 years. Though he had no children of his own, he dearly loved his stepchildren and grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife, Charlotte Getzlaff; his stepchildren and grandchildren; seven of his siblings; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

Larry will be remembered for his steady faith, generous heart, love of family, and willingness to help anyone in need. Larry was a devoted Christian who loved to share his faith and speak about Jesus with others. He was actively involved in his church community and lived out his faith through kindness and service. If Larry could leave one final message, it would be for everyone to know how deep and wide the love of Christ truly is (Ephesians 3:18–19).
