Karla Lynn Eskro, a longtime resident of the Seattle area, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. Known for her bright mind, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family, Karla will be missed by all who knew her.
Born in Seattle in 1959, Karla was a proud twin sharing an unbreakable bond with her twin brother Victor Janusz. Karla spent the majority of her childhood growing up in Southern California, before moving up to Mercer Island with her family. Karla's intellect and ambition shone through her academic pursuits. She graduated from Mercer Island High School before continuing her education at the University of Washington where she earned her BA degree in Textile Design/Historical Costume.
In her professional life, Karla was dedicated and meticulous, building a respected and diverse career that left a lasting impact on the community and her colleagues. Most recently, she was a Program Manager for the Community Health Plan of Washington, serving under-represented populations. Karla's exceptional verbal and communication skills landed her many supervisory and management roles. Companies included Gene Juarez, Dotcast/Disney, Premera Blue Cross, and others supporting the Medicare Community.
Outside of work, she was known for her kindness and the quiet strength she brought to every situation. Karla was her brother's biggest fan and spent many hours volunteering and promoting the Victor Janusz Band. She Executive Produced (with Scott Trethewey) Victor's 2023 feature film "Still I Reach For You".
Karla is survived by her brother Victor Janusz, and sisters, Norma Kraft, Ellie Riippi (Bill), and Monica Laning (Sonny), along with a number of nieces and nephews. Her lifelong friends include Susan Winn-Kelly of North Bend, WA and Linda Dotson of Pittsburg, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vic and Maria Janusz.
A private memorial Service will be held to celebrate Karla's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Karla's memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Karla's warmth, intelligence, and witty personality will be forever cherished. Her memory will be a blessing to all.
