John W. Oblanas

John W. Oblanas was born July 9, 1965 and died peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024. A graduate of Homestead High School in Cupertino, CA he earned a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Washington in 1988. He settled in Seattle where he worked in a variety of jobs and raised his daughter. He followed UW Husky football throughout his life and had a keen appreciation of arts, architecture, design, and vintage cars. A devoted fan of food, John loved shopping for ingredients and cooking. Throughout his life he brought creativity and artistry to any project he took on. He also had a deep love of dogs and is predeceased by Cibo, Rosie, and Hannah. He is survived by his daughter Addison Oblanas and her partner Sam LeBlanc, his sister Judy Oblanas Lynn, and his mother Nancy Oblanas. A memorial service is being planned for the end of March, 2025.
