Jason Chien-Ping Lo

September 25, 1943 — April 21, 2026

It is with deep sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Jason Chien Ping Lo, who departed this world on April 21, 2026, at the age of 82. He passed away from a ruptured aortic dissection at home. He was surrounded by the love of his family, in the manner we believe he would have wanted, with very little suffering.

Born on September 25, 1943, in SiChuan Chong Qing, China, Jason was the beloved son and second of four children of Lo Da Bing and Fu Zhi Ping. He was a man whose life was marked by dedication, love, and generosity. He leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by his family and the many lives he touched.

Jason is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Corinna Mei-Hsuan Lo. Together, they raised two beloved daughters, Linda (Scott) Tinker, and Ellen (Phil) Hoffman. His grandchildren, Anne Tinker, Samuel Tinker, Ruth Tinker, Caleb Hoffman, Amira Hoffman, and Promise Hoffman, were the light of his life, and he took immense joy in nourishing them with wisdom and always ensuring they were well-fed with their favorite foods: dumplings, noodles and green onion pancakes.

He is also mourned by his loving family in Taiwan: his sister, Lo Chien Yu (d. 2021 Soh Linxin), and his brothers, Lo Chien Zhong (Huang Shuhui) and Lo Chien Zhi (Mao Jinghong).

Jason and Corinna immigrated from Taiwan to the United States in 1971. His hard work, sacrifice and perseverance through their immigration journey gave his children and grandchildren a beautiful life and future.

Jason had a fulfilling and interesting career as a chemical engineer and in all his stories was sure to mention with gratitude, every supervisor, mostly immigrants themselves, who took him under their wing because they understood his experience. He worked as an engineer at Pendleton Woolen Mills, as a Quality Control engineer at Sandvik Special Metals, and was the Quality Control Manager at the Hanford nuclear power plant. He spoke passionately about his work at Hanford and was among the few who was able to see the inner workings. He ended his career as a Principal QA Engineer at Boeing. He exemplified diligence and innovation.

Jason found solace in the simple joys of fishing, bird watching, and cultivating fruits and vegetables. He enjoyed cooking delicious meals infused with love and care. An avid learner, he was always eager to learn about the latest in technology, science, health, and the world.

He was a faithful provider, believing in actions over words to show his deep love for his family. His generosity was very evident—whether offering financial assistance, repairing cars, or opening his home to those in need. He also lived a life of honesty and integrity, not willing to compromise his sense of justice for financial gain. To him, nothing was more important than family, and he delighted in the simple act of embracing those he loved.

A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Jason's life and legacy. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared their love, care, and support during this difficult time.

He lived a full and long life and was proud of the family he created. We carry him in our hearts with gratitude and love.
