Grace Cooper

July 15, 1925 — March 11, 2026

Grace Myrtle Cooper was united with Jesus on March 11, 2026 in Redmond, Washington. Born Grace Myrtle Hanson on July 15, 1925 to parents Theodore E Hanson and Lillian Bolen of Blair, Wisconsin, Grace was one of nine children. She is survived by her youngest sister, Clarice Edenfield. During WWII, Grace was a real “Rosie the Riveter." She worked making hoses for battleships in California before becoming a welder. In September of 1944, she married Army Sargent Henry O Lyngen. They later moved to Bellevue, WA, where they had three daughters: Jackie, Terry, and Lettie. Grace and Henry loved to be outside, whether it was in their garden, camping, or back home in Wisconsin. After the passing of Henry, Grace found love with second husband, Perry Cooper. She and Perry enjoyed traveling throughout the US in their RV, spending summers in Winthrop, and dancing with the four-square community. One of Grace’s greatest joys in life was the relationships with her ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; with one more on the way! Grace attributed her 100 years of life to her friendships with many people and her deep Christian faith. Grace was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church (16231 NE 6th St. Bellevue, Washington 98008)where a memorial service will be held on March 28, 2026 at 3:00PM.
