Gail Ann Risdal

January 18, 1960 — October 1, 2025

Woodinville

Gail was born to Betty Jane Harvey and William Leon Jackson on January 18 1960 in Seattle, WA. Growing up on Mercer Island her days were filled with Bike riding, berry picking, swimming, family trips, and fun filled Thanksgivings and Christmas celebrations.

Her parents instilled a great love of the outdoors in her at an early age and she enjoyed skiing, running, windsurfing, cycling, and hiking. Gail loved all animals and had several Golden Retrievers and rescue dogs, all of which were very special to her. She was also an avid reader and gardener.

Gail attended Mercer Island High School and played on the tennis team. She was a graduate of Washington State University where she earned a degree in communications. She worked as a broadcast journalist at KTVL in Medford Oregon before moving back to Seattle to work for KSTW. Eventually she went to work for the American Lung Association before earning her Technical Writing Certification and entering the technology field, eventually finishing her career with Oracle.

Gail possessed a uniquely special and beautiful smile that she shared with everyone. She also possessed a rare sparkle in her eyes that spoke volumes. She was very smart and throughout her life, Gail loved learning new things, ready to give her best to meet a challenge or pursue a worthy goal.

Her love for family, her husband, and nieces and nephew were a delight in her life, and she cherished spending time with each one. We were all blessed by Gail. She will be deeply missed.

Gail is survived by her husband Greg, of 21 years, her sister Sue (Adams), nieces, Sierra, Callie, and nephew Cole.

Donations may be made to Homeward Pet Adoption in Woodinville and Seattle Humane Society.
