Ester Roberts - an adored Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend transitioned peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 3rd, she was 75. The last few years have been challenging as she continued to manage both diabetes and then a kidney failure diagnosis.
She bravely took on the work of learning how to self-administer daily in-home dialysis treatments and did so successfully until her passing. She is now finally at rest. Wherever her eternity lies, there is surely a revolving shoe closet and an endless seafood buffet with sourdough rolls aplenty.
Born in Makati, Philippines to Felisa & Augusto Timbang, Ester came to the US at the age of 4. She, her 2 older siblings and younger brother, and eventually younger sister would reside in Bremerton WA, and also Beacon Hill and Wallingford neighborhoods of Seattle. Graduating from Lincoln High School, she would attend some community college but then would follow her path to enter the workforce.
Then in her twenties, Esa met Pat. A double date with mutual friends would be the end of the single life and she and Pat would marry, settle in Beacon Hill and raise their only daughter. They loved to go out dancing, hiking and exploring the Pacific Northwest. She was also an avid skier, romance / mystery novel enthusiast and amazing baker. Not having the opportunity to travel much in her younger years, when she finally got to Hawaii she fell in love. The islands hold a special place for us: “A Hui Hou” (Until we meet again).
Ester is survived by her Husband Pat, Daughter Laini, Grandchildren Leilah and Mia as well as her older siblings Roger & Cecilia and younger siblings Jaime & Norma. Services will be private, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
