David Michaud passed away peacefully at age 90, on May 21 2026 at his Seattle home. He was asleep in bed and passed just as his dear mother had before him.
David was born in Vancouver Canada but moved to Seattle to pursue opportunities in real estate. Over the years, he developed and restored his residences and rental properties in Seattle, Washington, and also in Honolulu, Hawaii, Paris, France, and Los Angeles, California.
While living in Honolulu, he met his life partner and husband Henry in 1988 and shared 38 amazing years together.
David and Henry traveled the world and saw 102 countries together. David’s greatest pleasures were his family & friends, and helping them succeed in pursuing their dreams. He was not only generous to his family, but to Henry’s family too. He loved the Arts and was a Balletomane. He gave very generously with a trust to Pacific Northwest Ballet, and to Cascade PBS.
He is survived by his husband Henry Grado and many nieces and nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews on both sides of their families; most of all his favorite niece Melanie Van Der Stock, her two sons and two grandsons, and his nephew Darrell Michaud who were a constant in his life. He shall be truly missed by them all.
At David's request there will be no service. Instead, there will be a birthday party celebration on November 22nd 2026, at David & Henry's home in Seattle.
