William A. "Bill" Sheehan Jr.

William A. “Bill” Sheehan Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, musician, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, one day after celebrating his 87th birthday. Born in New York, on June 23, 1939. Raised in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. Bill lived a life filled with music, family, and friends.

Bill proudly served in the United States Army in the early 1960s before beginning a long and successful career in sales. Yet his greatest passion — the thread woven through every chapter of his life — was music. As the bandleader and owner of Bill Sheehan’s Tuxedo Junction, he became a cherished figure in the Seattle music community for more than forty years. His band brought joy to countless weddings, events, and gatherings, and his leadership shaped the careers and confidence of many local musicians.

Bill later brought his talent to the Microsoft Jazz Band, where his energy, humor, and unmistakable presence made him both a mentor and a friend. Whether on stage or in rehearsal, Bill had a gift for making people feel welcome, seen, and part of something bigger.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy, his children William A Sheehan III, Susan Sheehan, and Patrick Sheehan, and his granddaughter Cierra Cameron, his sisters Marie A Muhler and Carol Bludworth and many neices and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William A Sheehan and Anne V Sheehan, brother Kenneth Sheehan and his son Kevin A Sheehan, whose memory he carried with him always.

Bill will be remembered for his music, his laughter, his stories. His legacy lives on in the musicians he inspired, and the family and friends who loved him deeply.

Interment with military honors will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery on September 25, 2026.
